A One Page Subscription Site
Casey Polson is runs an interior and property consulting service in Cape Town, South Africa, and she recently came up with a new business idea to launch a monthly subscription box based around interiors and homeware. Each month her team curates a box of bespoke and individual hand selected home items around a theme. The emphasis is on supporting locally designed and manufactured goods.

Logo, Colour Palette & Additional Fonts
Casey's logo is clean and minimal with a geometric design incorporating two houses. We wanted to keep to that uncluttered approach when it came to her site design as well while incorporating a playful yet elegant element with the additional fonts.
As Casey is still in the process of having product/styled photos taken for the subscription business, we need to gather some images that would reflect the creativity, appeal, elegance and warmth of her brand. To keep costs at a minimum we went for some free stock photography from Unsplash (still one of my favourite stock photography sites).
Template & Customisation
I chose the Rally template - I am using this template more and more because of how versatile it is. We wanted a collage style opening banner which I set up by adding a half and half designed background image with a couple of images laid over the top. I added a light overlay to introduce that somewhat hazy effect on the photography, enabled the parallax to give the site some sense of movement and left off any navigation since it is a really straight forward site. Each section of the site goes through the 'About', then the 'How it Works' of the subscription boxes, and then finally a large 'Subscribe' section which gives readers the option to subscribe to a gift box for themselves or to gift a box to someone else.
I used some custom page backgrounds, custom fonts with a highlighted effect using markdown. I also made use of a few Zapier integrations to sync with the subscription options.
Although it took a little bit of trial and error to settle on the final look and feel of the site, I think we ended up going in a great direction - minimal with a touch of personality, and I really like the colour palette! The site has room to grow as an online store is added with fully shoppable features.
